Hopefully Anxious & New Goals

We go in to be evaluated by a pediatric dentist tomorrow and see if L truly has a lip and or tongue tie. Due to insurance reasons we will have to wait a WHOLE MONTH more to actually get it corrected unless we want to drop cash on it. I am anxious to see what this dentist says. He is what is called a "preferred provider" that is specifically trained in these ties. From the research that I have found, a large amount of breastfeeding mothers fail because they think they are not producing enough milk for their growing baby. When in reality because of the anatomy in the mouth, these ties from the frenulum, baby just can't transfer milk efficiently enough. When baby doesn't remove enough milk, mom's body says "oh, I don't need to produce any more because baby is getting enough". It's kind of like a supply and demand relationship. I actually read once that only 2% of lactating moms actually can't produce enough milk. I don't know if that stat
